Looks like this one has a new engine, so not exactly a bike with just couple parts and a different paint job.

I don't think the throwback has the new engine. The article said 114CI.

Give it a rest.

For years they prospered selling an Electraglide Standard, Classic and Ultra Classic. They were a good value, with an entry, value and luxury level.

Now they chase demographics that don’t want their product and ignore their base. That leads to a loss of market share, lack of practical choices for people like me, that just want a newer version of their Ultra Classic.

Used prices are crazy. Not a good buyer’s market.

So they updated the article to include the statement from Harley that in ongoing years there will be one or two Icon models per year, this current Icon is limited to 1500 copies and the line up will be revealed on the 26th of April

Add a Springer front end, and you will have a winner.

Well, seeing as the new Softails look more like a Yamaha Virago than a rigid framed Harley-Davidson, I suppose they have to do something "retro."

from what I've seen, this is exactly what people have been asking for on this forum. it definitely does not look like something cobbled together from the parts bin. i'm quite sure that none of these parts have been in the bin for decades. it's an old model, with updated engine/drive train. I can't count the number of threads where people have said, 'if they would do this, I would buy it'...
