Even if you don't have a friend that owns a body shop. It's just a outer fairing and bags. You could strip the hardware off the bags yourself. Plenty of upholstery shops. Now if someone else always works on your bikes that could be a valid point to consider.

I do my own work and I've done some auto painting. You'd have to strip the bags and fairing, and take them to a good painter, then send the seat out and have it redone, just to make an imitation of a more expensive Harley. If I wanted a Revival, I'd buy one.

To each their own but the idea of creating a copy of a Revival in the hopes of saving money seems like folly. A Streetglide Special with RDRS is the same price. You now have to paint the entire bike, have a new seat made, modify the rear fender, figure out all the little trim pieces and source them, buy new wheels and tires, buy a new tank console, and probably some other details I don’t realize given I have only seen 1 in person. Whether or not you work on the bike yourself, you will still be left spending a lot more money and torn down a lot of time instead of riding and probably come up short in the end. Further, good luck ever trying to resell your interpretation of the original. To me, this kind of thinking is seriously flawed. It’s like trying to replicate a CVO and save money…you can’t do it. Now if you start with a 5 year old bike that is paid off, and aren’t wanting to buy a new one, different story. But you will still drop $6K or more trying to get there and at that point why not trade in?
I would rather just buy the real deal and spend my time riding it.
