I love the look of it, and I love the concept even, but 30K+ is too steep to me for what it is. I'm sure the faithfuls who love spending money will eat up all of the limited production so Harley will sell them easily most likely, but never to me.

For something like $23K or so I'd seriously consider it though.

Nice looking ElvisGlide… But the bastards stole my ElectraGlide front fender badge idea… Which I stole from them… twice...

Once...

...twice.

It's all about cost savings. It is a business. Most sales to police departments are in bulk and HD needs to compete with other manufacturers for contracts. LEO buyers are not motivated by the same things as the civilian consumer. They are not going to pay a premium for looks or image. They want function over form and want the best deal they can find. HD can charge $30k for what is basically a spiffed-up stock LEO bike because consumers will pay top dollar for the aesthetics. LEO would tell them to take a hike and go somewhere else if they charged that. They value utility and warranty and that's how you entice the civil dept shopper. Manufactures can just apply a unique paint to the same stock bike and charge a $7K markup because they know that is what sells to the civilian consumer.

It'll sell to the Harley guy who was going to buy another Harley model. The non Harley guy probably isn't going to much appreciate the nostalgic look and the tall price compared to what he could get for less money. I think the 1500 sales will be a wash.

Harley WANTS the law enforcement sales for a lot more reasons than just the realized profits from sales. Selling to LE agencies is a huge branding and identity deal for H-D. It keeps the brand out there in a highly visible way, and associates the company with (agree or disagree) the perception of uniformed officers, superior riders, and good guys who are authority figures. If it sounds a bit hokey, it’s actually not. It’s basically a tremendous way to advertise the brand.....hence the deals LE gets including warranties.

Well the new Revolution Max should help claw back some of the losses on that front provided they can get something out there sooner than later. I really want to see Harley's take on the BMW R1250RT that I ride and that new motor makes it easy and the secondary market of LE is just there to pick up with them as well.

I am taking the Pan American test ride this weekend as the demo truck will be here locally. Really looking forward to trying the new Engine. It is getting some rave reviews from a lot of traditional non-Harley owners , which is a good sign for potential sales I guess.

For all the people complaining about price, isn't an SGS with custom paint and RDRS around 29K too? Not that the Revival is cheap, but from where I'm standing the pricing looks inline with most other Harleys, and I'm a little surprised it's not higher...

The price might actually be higher if dealers anticipate big demand and decide to price above msrp.

A stock LEO Electra Glide without the LEO electronics is around $23K...except for the wheels and seat rail, everything else is identical.

The problem is you have to then tear it down and spend another $3K or more to have it painted and you would still have parts missing like the infotainment set up, mag wheels, wrong tank badging, wrong seat, etc. In the end you would have a bike that probably wouldn’t look as good or have the same features for the same money or close to it. Most people don’t want to take the long way around to end up with less. I don’t like the $29,199 price tag either. But it is priced where it fits in the touring lineup. Its about the same as a loaded Streetglide Special with reflex and paint options. Its just slightly less than a two-toned Limited in Chrome.
