The Ducati Apollo was another V4 project that was cancelled - in 1964.
I wonder where H-D got the idea from?

Maybe Honda's VF750F? That engine won more than a few races in its day. RIP Joey

Considering Porsche was building this in the early 70s, I seriously doubt they needed Ducati's ideas on engine design and manufacturing:



It's interesting to see how paranoid HD was back then with respect to water cooling. Nary a hose, pump, or radiator in sight.

I've never been a fan of the engine being a stressor in the frame, at least from an aesthetics point of view. Something about it kills the look for me. But the bike overall doesn't look too bad and I find these types of projects fascinating.

A liquid cooled V6 touring bike would be very nice.
