Default Relative Sound of different exhausts...

Hi all,

I currently have SEII slip ons with no baffleson my Softail Standard.
I would like to replace them something a little quiter but not "factory" quiet.
Can someone tell me if the V&H Big Shot Staggards with quiet baffles or the V&H Q series would be quiter than what I have now?

Thank you.

I also have SE II's, but never removed the baffles. Last week, though, I replaced them with Big City Thunder Monster baffles. Big difference in sound! The Monsters have a louder sound, but still have the nice 'deep' bass tone that I like. They don't have the cackle of many pipes, and I seem to have a little more mid-range power. I would definitely recommend them. Check 'em out at www.bigcitythunder.com .

I just replaced my Big Shot Staggered baffles with Q baffles and only noticed a slight deepenig of the tone. Not more quite and a perceived slight drop in performance

Look at the Supertrapp 3" internal disk slip-on's. I put them on my Dyna a few weeks ago and quite pleased. Deep mellow sound, that you can adjust to your taste by adding/subtacting disks. They don't "bark" which is what I was looking for.

Changing to Thunder Monsters made my bike sound like I had expected it to sound when I added the SE II's.

This won't, however, quiet your bike down. I ran without baffles for a couple of days before installing the Thunder Monsters and the volume was about the same either, but without baffles I thought the sound was crappy. With the baffles, I like the sound a lot. Not too loud, nice low tone.

You gotta put thefactory mufflers back on - otherwise you won't be compliant to theEPA noise levels and therefore you will be making all of us Harley riders look bad because of your loud pipes. Damn You!(Just read some other posts here and you'll get my sarcasm.....)

I would if I had them!
I actually bought this bike used and it was already set up that way.
