French engine design was just a joke...
We all know it was influenced by Porsche but this is the French design:

(Just too funny...)

I have zero issues with the V-Rod. I think it's a fine bike and its development hashelped HD evolve as a company forthefuture generation of water cooled Harley's that will be coming down the pike. By the way...anything that weighs less than 650 pounds and generates 123hp between your legs definitely is nota girls bike.

We're gonna get slammed for this but...

For me they're way too girly and over priced.

I'm not too sure how I felt about Harley getting the French involved with the engine design too.
I have been going over pictures of the V-Rod and for the life of me I cannot see how anyone can call the looks "Girly".

I know for a fact that if onetakes a V-Rod for a test ride, the description of "Girly" will not be one of the adjectives used to describe the experience!!!!!

How can onethink this is "Girly"???

I can't quite put my finger on any specific thing about it,...maybe the headlight, or the gauges,.....I think it has a lot to do with it looking so radically different from the "traditional Harley look".......I have thought many times about renting one for a day just to see for myself,....maybe I'll just do that,.....

I really like the V-Rod. It's fast, light and easy to ride. It reminds me very much of the old Hondas I used to ride, lots of rev's and lots of HP. Unfortunately all of my riding is high mileage touring, and that bike doesn't meet my needs or I would own one. Maybe one day soon HD will introduce a touring bike with that, or a similiar, drive train.

Demo'd a Night Rod Special, sweet bike. If I had the cabbage I'd strongly consider one for a second bike.

I think they're cool in sort of a "Darth Vadar" way. I do admire the engine. However, I would never consider owning one.

The picture of the Night Rod Special does not do it justice. It looks WAY better in person. I did not like them when they first came out and were all silver. As soon as they started to add colors and graphics, they started to grow on me. Then, with the NR Special, that put me over the top, it is awesome.
