Default Pregnant and riding?

Just curious if anybody has had any experience with this? My wife is pregnant with our first child and we were discussing this topic earlier this morning. She said she doesn't feel comfortable riding because she read that if you ride (horses) or ski you shouldn't do it while pregnant because of the increased chance of becomming injured and possibly injuring the baby. Also she was worried about the vibration on top of it. Not looking for a doctor opinion just if you ever heard anything or if you (or your wife) rode or did not ride while pregnant. She does not ride her own bike, she is just my passenger.

Try asking your OB/GYN.
You want to trust your baby to this website..

I'm not an OB/GYN but I play one on TV. Don't put anyone on a bike who can't make a consciousdecision to ride.Your unborn child cannot. Don't risk it. Congratulations, by the way!

Had a friend back in England whose wife was even more of a bike nut than him. She was blasting around on a Yamaha Genesis (her Ducati was being rebuilt) right up to 8 months pregnant!! Her and the kid are both fine, but I'd s**t a brick if my old lady tried that.

Ummmmmmmm you've never asked your friends for advise?

When my wife was pregnant she cut down on her chances of injury, no motorcycles, sking, etc.. Glad to see you have a good head on your shoulder by asking a question like this.

Oh! and BTW!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the others pointed out...it's just not worth risking. If she has already said that she's not comfortable doing it, then I'd just leave it at that. You can look forward to riding together again in the future.

Look at it this way......Would you let your wife ride on the back of your bike while she was holding your NEW BORN in her arms.....or even if she had the child in some sort of bag or something.....I think not.

Just foolish IMHO.
