Ummmmmmmm you've never asked your friends for advise?
When my wife was pregnant she cut down on her chances of injury, no motorcycles, sking, etc.. Glad to see you have a good head on your shoulder by asking a question like this.
Oh! and BTW!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try asking your OB/GYN.
You want to trust your baby to this website..

RE: Pregnant and riding?
Congratulations on your first child. What an exciting time! If your wife doesn't want to ride then no question....don't make her feel like she has to choose. If she does but is afraid then consult your doctor. Some woman think it isn't safe to have sex and it is. I don't see where there is any more harm that can be done to the child on the bike then in a car....but that's me. As long as I was comfortable and it was safe then I would ride. Ask your docotor. In fact I am so curious now I think I will call my doctor tomorrow. I've never really thought about this question.

RE: Pregnant and riding?
they passed a law earlier this year that if you are pulled over and either the rider or passenger are pregnant it is now a fellony and you can be charged with Child endangerment
not sure if it is that way in Jersey but it is out here and in a few other states

RE: Pregnant and riding?
First like many others have said congratulations.
If your wife is uncomfortablewith riding while pregnant, then stay off the bike. But I see no increased risk by riding. I mean think about it accidents happen they are unpredictable, so is life.
Women do all kinds of activities while pregnant - running, work, ski, ride horses, sex, drive their car, talk on the phone etc. Placing your baby in danger comes from not seeing your doctor, drinking, doing drugs etc.
If you are scared something may happen lock her in the house for 9 months.

We went through this about a year ago and someone asked the doctor and the doctor said "no more monkies jumping on the bed"! No really the Doc said it was no more dangerous then walking.

RE: Pregnant and riding?
My wife rode with me a lot when she was pregnant with the first, with the second only a few times. If you are comfortable with it I say why not. My first is 2 now and absolutely loves the bike, I'm sure it's because she was on it so much while in mama.
