I can see that. I don't typically prefer bright, flashy colors though to fair. I definitely prefer bland. I seem to be in the minority in that I don't mind a lot of the new colors. Don't get me wrong, I like the new CVO RG and SG but I just prefer more muted colors.

I can't find those Blues or oranges anywhere, just a grim stagnant pond green.
The orange is on the Street Bob. The black street Bob actually has more red than black on it.

The blue is on a heritage and some of the sportsters.

Most if the bikes though are black (multiple black colors wtf) and black or green with everything in between. There are a couple of whites.

Have had black fork legs replaces on two bikes so far under warranty due to horrible pitting and finish coming off, same with shift levers.
Getting that cheap black finish rather then chrome costs an additional $1200. Let that sink in.

$1,200 to have black, rather then chrome.

HOW?!

Harley, your decision makers are doing some dumb sh*t.

It's not my cup of tea, but I'm not sure it's dumb from H-D's or the dealer's perspectives. Chrome is THE standard bearer in looks from H-D over the years. Blacked out is a trend and most smart businesses will figure out that trends equate to 'will pay for that' from customers who want it. Based on my observations and discussions at/with dealers in 2020, the black finishes were very popular and sold just as well as the chrome. H-D is legitimately charging extra for the 'non-standard' look....something they've also done with paints for many years.

The black is more costly due to magnitude of scale and a high number of rejected parts since imperfections are much more easily noticed on the black parts. It does suck but there are no prizes for being he richest guy in the cemetery. Lol

Did a quick stop in at a nearby HD shop today. I have to say I really like the look of 2021 Street Bob in orange. I bet it will be sold this weekend as they only have 1. The marketing guy I was talking too, expects they will sell everyone they get at $15k MSRP. Add a bigger tank (3.5G), a 2nd front disc and replace the el cheapo forks and I'd get one. Still holding off until the 2021 Custom reveal. Also if you need reading glasses I do that tiny screen they use for all the information will be challenge.

Here are some fast pics I took just to catch the colors of the 21s they have in stock.

Since the marketing guy put up with me and my questions with good spirit, I'd figure I'd post his review of the 2021 street bob. It does look great.
