Default External breather

I'm thinking about rerouting the breather hose to the outside or to a can. I'm probably overthinking this but would this modification require a re-tune?

No tune necessary. your bike will run cooler, have a slightly better throttle response and will not carbon up as much. However if you ever have to take it to the dealer for warranty work be sure to put it back to stock other wise your power train warranty will be gone. Its very simple to have ab external breather and then change it back, just takes a few minutes

Definitely not. In a perfect world, you would have had this done before getting a dyno-tune, though.

Just did mine today! Easy-peasy. Haven’t opened it up yet, but just knowing that all that smegma isn’t getting dumped inside my engine makes me smile.

I recently saw a video on YouTube with Doc Harley on external breather systems and he actually endorsed the mod. He was quite surprised how much crud was on top of a piston from a bike with low miles on it. Any one on the fence about this mod check out the video.

Yeah. That surprised me. That a highly qualified PHD would recommend a modification that goes so much against a design of the MOCO. He said that was his personal bike with low mileage. Also. He claimed he thought he was a decent tuner. I have done the mod on my 2007 Ultra beforehand..
