HELP!! My 1994 Sportster 1200 XLH is blurring out between 4500 and 5000 RPM

Not to chase you outta here, but there is a Sportster forum that is very informative..... xlforum.net I belonged there when I had my Sporty. The people there know their Sportsters. It's been years, but I did change the air filter, re-jetted the carb, torque tubes (because I removed the cross pipe) and changed mufflers. It ran well, I know it would go at least 100-105, but never felt like pushing further. Also check the Sportster area in this forum. You should get some answers between these two.

Make sure the carb is jetted correctly and adjusted properly. Be sure the timing is right, that the plugs are gapped right and run at least 93 Octane fuel. Wouldn't be a bad idea to pour some Sea Foam in the tank with the gas and run it through to clean out the carb and combustion chambers. I don't know about getting blurry, but after you get up over 100 mph you should feel some blood flowing from the big head down into the little head!!

Well, thank you everyone!! amazing, special thanx to to Ian Marshall at Marshall Speed and Custom,
great advice, i upped my main Jet from 160 to 175 (might go bigger yet 195) and a Screamin Eagle free flow air filter and Boom!!, fantastic mate, Straight up to 90mph, no messing about, and still another 20 or so mph left!! ill have to wait for a dryer day, its not for the feint hearted out there, at 90mph in an open face bash hat, the sleet felt Eric Bristow was chucking handfuls of darts at me!!, Better go dry off.…
