That thing doesn't have a rev limiter, does it?

Sounds like what's coming up short is your engine is starved of fuel.

"blurring out". That's a new one on me and I am not exactly young anymore.

I'd say tighten your mirrors, get more sleep and hold your head up straighter if everything is blurry.

That, or maybe you're just on the cusp of entering another dimension as you reach terminal velocity.

Sorry - no help (except possibly comic relief)

Imho, 90 mph on a rigid mounted Sportster is plenty fast enough !!

It looks like those are straight pipes. If they do not have baffles in them, you are losing a lot of torque. If the carburetor has not been rejected to compensate for the exhaust, that’s a big problem.

I forgot what the stock rev limiter is.

They used shitty advance curves in the ignition modules right around then , a lazy advance curve and a rev limiter that doesn't allow the engine to rev very high

It's a stock Harley head pipe with crossover and the mufflers are Harley but probably not stock.
It's not drag pipes.

I see this when I ride:

Am I blurred or spluttering?

OP, you might be hitting the rev limiter....
