Almost 700 yesterday - Dickinson, North Dakota to Whitefish, Montana. Longest stretch I’ve ever done by a long shot, and what a joy on the CVO Limited!

Pounded out about 580km today in 8.5 hours including all our stops; almost all of it winding mountain roads, one corner claimed one of my driving lights as I bottomed out on a 30kph tight corner. It was raining when we left, then over cast and cold for a few hours, then scorching hot for 2 hours, then cool once again over the high mountain pass, then back to cooking. It was still a great day, still reliving the ride.

We had to stop one time to let a family of mountain sheep cross the highway and one guy just stood there, giving us the 'eye'. When I pulled off the highway, there was a very small dirt shoulder and my friends had to push and hold down my bike for me to get back on the highway afterwards - silly mistake that I won't do again.

My friend did this map of the ride: https://www.relive.cc/view/vWqBnjjWEQq

Stopping in the middle of nowhere, because it's nowhere. I like to say that you sometimes find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself.

There's a bloody huge Teepee across this canyon, I have no idea how anyone gets to it.

Head butt challange!

Stopping at the mountain lake.

Here is some info on the Duffy Lake Highway. All kinds of crazy corners, off-camber, beat-up road, high in the mountains, rocks all over the road - just adrenaline at 100kph if you can. I always say it makes the infamous "The Dragon" look like Puff the Dragon.

according to my Rever app, 154mi. one of the loops I do once in awhile, 3 states, lots of scenery, lots of Amish buggies because of Sunday church, an accident with a detour, but overall an enjoyable ride on a beautiful day!

50 miles this morning to work.

About 75 miles Saturday morning down to Corkscrew Marsh, followed the wife, daughter and grandkids so the daughter could do something for her college class, then over toward the I-75 to eat lunch.

My wife and I rode 455 miles on Saturday getting three dealership stamps for the Carolina Challenge. Had a nice ride.

If you go to my thread in the Road Trips section there are details and many pictures of the latest ride.

Did about 120 round trip to Lizzie’s for lunch in Goldston NC. Don’t blink or you’ll miss the town. Used to pass this place on the way to Pik n Pig in Carthage before it burned.

I was sitting there waiting on lunch when an old Viet Nam Vet walked in and said, “That your bike? My wife and I walked by and the turn signal lens fell off right there.”
And danged if it didn’t. Laying right there in the street. Got another one incoming from Custom Dynamics.

As I was getting up to pay, one of the ladies was putting a tray of pies into the fridge next to the check out counter. I inquired what variety of pie. Fresh baked pecan pie RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN.

MAN OH MAN.

About 60 miles. Rode to Harley dealership, found that particular entrance to the industrial district is closed (apparently, again more covid measures, like a year ago). So passed by the highway, stopped outside the city on a gas station to refill and get a cheeseburger. The rode back home taking bit longer loop.
