Rode about 120 miles yesterday all over the San Francisco Peninsula on windy roads through a dense coastal redwood forest. A usual ride. Then just before I get home I fill up the bike with gas. Somehow I put the gas cap on but I must not have screwed it down. About 200 feet after I got on the bike and went through a busy intersection, the gas cap came off. So I pull over and start looking. And looking. And looking. I can't find it anywhere but I keep looking. A young woman in an SUV figures out what I am doing and sees the gas cap in the middle of the intersection. It had rolled quite a ways. She pulls over and shows me where the gas cap is. So just as I'm about to go get the gas cap, a car runs it over. I get home and order another one from Amazon, which is supposed to arrive today.

Got in over 200 today. Almost at 2000 for this season, and I haven't gone anywhere!
Got to test my right turn signal repair: 100% functional now. Makes me a happy Clam. Also got to test out the additional height on my headlight after switching the 3/4" (really 5/8") spacer under the mount to a 1" spacer. Did what I was expecting, a significant increase in lighting further up the road, without blinding oncoming traffic. AND, I found out I broke one of my fuel gauge wires when I pulled the tank back to do the turn signal repair... Sometimes I feel like I'm in a Three Stooges skit, and I'm Curly!
Cheers!

Close to 300 miles since yesterday. On my way to test battery blew up my rear tire half way to a dealer that is 150 miles away. In 45k miles first time had to tow. Both my tires had 25k miles on them and I was going to change them next week anyways. Lesson learned - never neglect maintenance. Should have put new tires last season.
Funny thing tho, after new tires I felt like bike is 1/2 to 3/4 inch taller. What do you guys think if I put 1" lowered front cartridges but I have 13" shocks in the back. If it helps shocks in the back have light springs and sunk in that is close to 12" anyways.
