So how many miles did you ride today ?

Did a 30 mile shake-down test ride on Tuesday, and the first real ride of the season: over 200 miles on Thursday.
Over the winter I installed Progressive monotube cartridges up front, and Heavy Duty 422 w/RAP rear shocks. The monotubes were an upgrade from the stock front suspension with Progressive springs, and the HD 422 w/RAP, replaced 8 year old standard 422 (non-RAP) rear shocks. Reaper handles considerably better, and feels more stable and "planted" through curves and bends. I also noticed that hitting big bumps/potholes at speed didn't jar my back or rattle my teeth the way they used to! Still a little stiff, but I expect the suspension to settle and soften a bit with more miles, which I cannot wait to put on her!
Cheers!

Got out for a 20 mile ride Saturday, spent Sunday doing chores around the house- mowing and edging lawn, got on roof and cleaned out gutters and then saw cracks in the cement top on my chimney so I got drylock masonary crack filler, then recalked a few windows, then planted 2 rose bushes- one is a climbing rose so put a trellis behind it, then turned soil over where I plant tomatoes to get ready for planting in about a month.

Wife said yardwork today, so I grabbed about 65 miles on my brand new FLHTK early. This put my bike over the 500 mile break in.
Now here is the interesting part. Call it BIKE KARMA. I've experienced it before and it happened again.
Yesterday I attended a motorcycle event with the NTNOA. It's the North Texas Norton Owners Association which I am a member and a Norton owner. The event was at a local Euro sport cycle shop. The neat thing was they had test rides all day on Triumph and Ducati bikes. I took two group test rides on two different bikes. These was not your NORMAL test rides. Since the shop assumed (correctly) that the riders were experienced, we ran a 10 mile course on local highways and 40 mph back roads. Ok here is the trick. We reached speeds over 100mph. I struggled, but not too hard, to keep up. I WAS GREAT! The second demo seemed more of a street race than a test ride. WOW. I told my wife that I was amazed no LEOs showed up.
TODAY: I rode my new FLHTK. I was pulled over by one of Texas' finest on a two lane rode with a few hills a turns. RARE for where I live. Now comes the KARMA. I received a warning after clearly exceeding the speed limit. WHEW!
BE SAFE OUT THERE
