So how many miles did you ride today ?

Around 130 or so, ended up in my old stomping grounds out around Crawfordsville where I grew up. Stopped at Yountsville where there is a natural spring, and in the past a mill.
Back in the late '60's and '70's we used to ride bikes down here to drink the COLD spring water, God it was cold and good! In the late '70's they built houses up on top of the hill behind the spring, and apparently the septic systems have tainted the water making it undrinkable, which is sad...
On the other side of the road is a small cliff that Sugar Creek runs by. Used to explore the caves that are in that cliff, but can't go down to the creek anymore as there were private property signs all over the place.
Beautiful day here, partly sunny and around 80*F.

A super beauty of a day spent in the sun riding Reaper! 8+ hours, and 500 kms (around 300 miles) of much needed saddle induced bliss.
Reaper ran absolutely perfectly, and I really couldn't have asked for better weather. (it's nice to thank Mother Nature, rather than curse her, haha! ) The engine break-in is about halfway done now. I found my old HD oil temp dipstick, and the day was in the high 80s/low 90s, and I was never in stop and go traffic. Mostly cruising 50 mph roads. The highest temp I saw on the gauge was around 225 F. Also, her fuel economy is back. the first tank got 44 mpg, and the second one was over 48 mpg. Before the latest rebuild, she was struggling to get 40 mpg.
Looking forward to many many thousands more trouble free miles!
Cheers!

Around 80 or so. I was out early this afternoon for a while, then I did something I haven't done in a LONG time. I jumped on the bike around 8 pm, and hit the county roads and didn't get back home until after 9 pm right after the Sun had set.
