A much needed 155 miler, beginning the break-in of Reaper's "new" 110 ci build. Long story short: Reaper has spent more time in the shop than under my *** this season. The root cause was finally discovered: the crankcase oil return passage, in the S&S cam plate, was blocked by plastic debris from when the counter-balancer tensioners and guides disintegrated 2 years ago, which was causing major sumping, which caused major overheating, seal/gasket blowouts, piston/cylinder damage, etc.... Now that that has been addressed, I am looking forward to many thousands of trouble free miles in her saddle!
Cheers!
Cheers!

131 Miles
Crazy HOT, but we wanted to ride. Hot and high chance of thunderstorms growing into the afternoon. We rolled out at 10:30 am and it was already 92 degrees. We took all two lane roads into N. WILKESBORO and it was 95 degrees at noon.
Hitting Hwy 18 north toward the BRP we saw temps drop 11 degrees at the 3000 foot mark.
We enjoyed lunch at Freebornes and it was nice to catch up with Diane.
We rolled back down 18 and caught a heavy rain shower for about three miles. It actually felt good!
We were dried off by the time we arrived at Crosstoads HD. There was a guy pulling in from Boone and he was soaked and came through quite the storm.
We rolled out for home as the black clouds were building and left them in the rear view mirror.
The closer to home we got the hotter it became. Like a blow dryer on high heat pointed at your face.
We got home and the temp was reading 99.5 degrees on the bike.
We had a good time, but it is just too hot and too dangerous to be out.

That sounds a lot like riding in Texas during the summer. Except for the rain part.
Although Beryl is likely to come by and bring some rain. It won't likely be strong enough to cause any damage though. Funny, in the dead of summer here we start hoping for hurrncane season to bring some rain. But hoping more thatn it's just rain and not get's damages.

Saturday July 6th
87 total miles on Belinda.
I woke up early for a Saturday and left the Carolina Girl snoozing. I was at Cheer’s at 8:30am for a hair cut. A much needed hair cut. We call it Cheer’s because everyone knows your name!
Then I rolled east bound on I-40 and went to Clemmons Motorcycles to say hello to Kenny. I have not seen him in a while. My next stop was at Smokin HD to get a safety inspection done on Belinda. I left the bike in service and went to see Jake in parts. I had him order me a Magnum Shielding clutch cable for Belinda. I absolutely love these clutch cables. The quality and simplicity to adjust has made me a huge fan.
Then I ran into Joe from our HOG chapter and shortly after we saw Randall walking in. It turns out that Randall came for the free burgers, hotdogs and beer they were going to serve. We all BS’s a while and then grabbed something to eat before heading out in different directions.
I was back home by 12:30 and it was really getting hot outside. Overall a really nice morning and nice to get some solo time on two wheels.
I think my riding is done for this weekend.
Please RAIN,

Thanks! Just finished up about two weeks of hell trying to diagnose fuel delivery issues. Put the new bars on the day before this ride.
needs new Riser Bushings, but I’m loving this bike!
appreciate the comment!
