I was lucky enough to have a whole, dry Saturday to myself.
Of course I rode!
Rode with a group from Lifestyle Cycles out of Anaheim.
I've been catching rides with these guys for about 5-6 years now.
Lake Arrowhead, Ca today, about 200 miles for me under beautiful conditions.
I lost an exhaust nut on the front pipe right before we pulled in for lunch.
The damned thing sounded like it was going to die right there; turned it off and saw the exhaust shake a little bit.
Sure enough one nut missing and the other was loose.
Exhaust was removed and reinstalled by the dyno shop. Looks like they didn't get these to spec.
Luckily a fellow rider had a factory shift linkage in his bag of parts.
The nut on the ball end is the same thread as the exhaust nut, it's just not flanged (5/16-24).
I was fixed in about 10 minutes.
Here's a snap from the way back home.
