From: In a van down by the river
2 miles into work
285 miles home from work
Had to go north to get a lotto ticket. Place way north of me is considered one of the luckiest sellers in the state, hit for 3 or 4, $2million dollar tickets last week. So, went up, got a ticket, swung through and saw a friend of mine at his clubhouse, stopped in a park with a lake, took the collapsible fishing pole out of the saddlebag and tossed out a few casts. Snagged a few sunfish and a decent sized bass before heading home.
Figures the one day I forget to stuff my heavy jacket in the saddlebag. Vest kept the core warm, but just a t-shirt on the arms... Was starting to feel a little chilly.

86 miles today with my wife after work. Nice ride on country roads in Wake, Franklin, Vance counties NC. This weekend will be zero on the bike because we are heading out to Brevard, NC area for a wedding. Need to take the car to carry our fancy duds. Plan to hit Oskar Blues brewery on Saturday and drive back through Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure areas on Sunday. It would be awesome on the bike. Next time...

I came across this bridge looking for something else in Google Maps, decided to check it out today. Nothing spectacular about it other than it's an iron bridge built in 1925 or so.
Leaves are dropping now, and so are the walnuts. One little skinny road I took to get there had dozens of walnut trees and all of their current crop littering the road. But tobacco is a real thing here, the last of the firing is going on right now, the crops that survived the barn fires are hanging now, waiting their turn to go to the warehouses. Corn has been taken up, next are the bean fields. Good day to be out.
