to 117 expected.

 

Rode over 500 miles on Monday (Ft. Wayne to Des Moines) and over 400 Tuesday up to Watertown, SD. Pretty isolated up here in NE SD. Pulled into a few gas stations in SD and Iowa that do not sell premium gas (91 or higher octane). Just 87 with enhanced ethanol content, as high as 20%. Luckily found alternatives with 91 octane not far away.

I got a new phone and can't attach photos yet. Stupid me "lost" the old phone and I stopped in Vermillion, SD to get a new one at a Verizon store. As soon as the guys got it ready to go I found the old phone buried under my laptop in the tour pack. Ohe well, needed a new one anyway due to a cracked screen. Still got my Monday mileage below.


Met a guy from Colorado headed for Lime Rock, CT at the Des Moines hotel. Has a 1949 MG auto he's going to race in a Vintage event. Cool!

 

Only about 300 miles on Wednesday. Rode up to Fargo, ND from Watertown, SD. Now I can check off ND as a "visited state". Got a bit tired and stopped for the night back in Watertown. Plan was to get to Sioux Falls, but you know the old line, "the best laid plans of mice and men, often go awry."

Very windy this morning here. Not looking forward to the 20-30 mph winds when I get on the road.

Jumped on my bike AFTER checking the WX. Was barely passing my neighbors house when I Saw lightneing.

I turned around.

Rode back into the garage. Looked out, MORE lightening. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

I didn't know about this mpg thing with the Boom! Box so checked it out today, with the Nav, the 55 miles was a mix of 25 miles on the interstate and the rest leaving the house, two-lane, four-lane, the return trip was mostly four and two lane, through town, etc.,

mixed results on the mpg, but then again, I don't care, when it's empty I put more in it, usually works out for the best,

also looked at the new CVO Road Glide, three in stock at HD Bowling Green, KY, spread the word bird

 

Just my Normal 70 miles back and forth to work.

 

 

Not sure how many miles I rode. It was a beautiful day and evening here in NC after the hurricane pasted. I just got on the bike and rode! I forgot to check the odometer or reset the trip odometer before leaving. So I’m not sure how many miles I rode, but I’m sure it was an even number!

ps. I’m an even number guy! Lol

 

About 330 miles in the wind (25-35 mph) yesterday. Watertown, SD to Rochester, MN on I-29 and I-90. This old man's arms got tired through the day. Ended up taking frequent breaks toward the end of the ride. Headed to daughter's home near Rockford, IL today. Should be an easier day with only 250-270 miles. Will be good to see her and her family (haven't seen them for over a year).

 

87 yesterday and planning about 180 today.
