Default 71 Miles

Yesterday was a nice evening here in the Carolinas. The Carolina Girl and I fired up Belinda, cranked up the tunes and did a 71-mile cruise to Jonesville / Elkin, NC. This has become one of our favorite weekdays even dinner cruise areas. Nice two-lane country roads all the way and many excellent restaurants to choose from including Southern on Main, Theo's, Breakfast Time, Speedy Chef and Dodge City to name a few.

Last night our choice was Theo's. We were planning to enjoy one of their excellent subs. However, when we arrived, we realized they have brought the pizza and salad buffet back on Tuesday and Wednesday. All you can eat for $9.95 per person. They have fantastic pizza. We are not big on buffets following covid, but we were like the first there and it was super nice.

I haven't talked about the stereo on this bike in a while. Stock head unit and everything else came from American Handbags. It is off the charts. We hear things in songs that we never heard before from stock systems. If you want to hear music loud and clear at 80 mph + this will do it. This Street Glide is just so much fun to ride and the stock 114 gets the job done easily.

Second time it happened on 95 I went total weird town riding. 95 south, 12 east to Kooskia, Orofino, Cameron, Dreay, Clarkia, Santa, Flat Creek, St Marie’s Rose Lake, Thompson Falls, Nixon, Hope, Sagle, home. Almost ran out of luck finding gas, had 30 miles range left and found Premium, sign said it might have traces of ethanol. Guess a few tanks ago, they got a load of government subsidies to the Agra corn lobby gas and have only had 3 pure gas refills since that fiasco. I didn’t care. Bike ran great, mountains and shady roads were up to 15 degrees cooler than the lower lands.

In short, I had a very nice solo ride.
The ride on 12 from Kooskia to Lolo along the river is very nice. I'm much envious of not having that in my backyard or at least easy access to it.
