We got a little rain earlier today so it dropped down to about 105. I just got back from doing about 160.

Rode through an unexpected dowpour, but saw it far enough ahead to stop, check radar on the phone and don my latest rain gear, which worked as advertised.

Ate lunch just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Meadows of Dan, VA, and rode home.

77 mile’s coffee run…same as yesterday.

Just my normal 70 mile round trip to work and back.

Not a pleasure ride but better then nothing.

 

I got lost today, but finally found a way home. 358 miles, back roads and forgotten towns. I attempted, nicely to ride but was ever so surprised at my worst nightmare, Chip seal. Miles cars, trucks, campers stuck at 90+ for single lanes. Second time it happened on 95 I went total weird town riding. 95 south, 12 east to Kooskia, Orofino, Cameron, Dreay, Clarkia, Santa, Flat Creek, St Marie’s Rose Lake, Thompson Falls, Nixon, Hope, Sagle, home. Almost ran out of luck finding gas, had 30 miles range left and found Premium, sign said it might have traces of ethanol. Guess a few tanks ago, they got a load of government subsidies to the Agra corn lobby gas and have only had 3 pure gas refills since that fiasco. I didn’t care. Bike ran great, mountains and shady roads were up to 15 degrees cooler than the lower lands.

In short, I had a very nice solo ride.
