Saturday I had some free time and decided it was time to finish the break in miles on the rebuilt motor in the 1946 Flathead. Took two different rides in the morning with a cool down in between, but we got to 105 miles and brought her inside for an oil change. Made a mess but got it done, also noticed rear fender bolt/luggage rack support was missing!??!! For some reason I had a spare, put that on and then decided to finally go for a real ride out to Manorville for a celebratory cool drink. Took me two months to find the time to get the first 100 miles on the motor, yet Saturday I did 75 miles total. Life sure does get in the way sometimes. Overall the bike is running well, Linkert needs a better tune but I will call it 90% correct. Hoping to bring her for a dyno tune this month before leaving for Sturgis, we will see if that happens.
Sunday had a group of us riding to Massapequa to Smokin' Al's for some good BBQ. For my money, best on our Island. We dodged rain drops all day but stayed dry. Last stop was about two miles from the house, get to the bar and the Yankee game was under rain delay as well as the horses at Belmont. Lots of rain and that is only about 35 miles away, decided to get home and call it good not getting wet. Rained at home soon after, but I got the girls tucked away first. I will call it another 75 miles on the Shovel for Sunday.
Good weekend riding vintage and no motorcycle drama, always a good thing.

My wife hasn't ridden in a while and she wanted to ride the Sportster yesterday. We were under level 2 risk of severe storms with a strong line approaching. I checked radar and planned a route that would hopefully avoid the rain and be a fun ride. We made it 68 miles and pulled into the garage about 5 minutes before this happened.

80mi Thursday, and got in 135mi today! took another trip out to Three Mile Island, as I simply enjoy the ride there, just a very scenic ride with great twisties! it was hot today, 91 degrees I think but the M8 is so much cooler running than my old Twin Cam, it really wasn't bad.
stopped by Chesapeak Harley to chill a bit before hitting the road, saw this crazy thing while there.
