Saturday June 10
We rode 275 miles total on Saturday. Most of it with our HOG Chapter.
Visited an interesting road side attraction, went to an abandoned NASCAR that the last race ran was in 1968 and won by Richard Petty. Had a very good lunch experience, followed by a visit to a creamery for fresh Ice Cream.
The Carolina Girl and I split off and had dinner near Lexington at Tarheel Q.
Excellent day!
The Station for lunch. The sandwiches are good. The pizza is even better!
This was a very cool stop. I would love to have witnessed a race back in the day. Richard Petty won the last race ran there in 1968.
Some old guy way back in the 1900’s had a lot of time on his hands, plenty of concrete and imagination and rocks! We are told that he brought every single rock in himself.
Nothing like fresh Ice Cream direct from the cow! Thank you Tom for buying everyone in the group ice cream!
Tarheel Q at the Davie - Davidson County border on Hwy 64. The food is good and the service is EXCELLENT.
I love to see those LP6’s shining off the road signs in the daylight!

My son finally restored his 1983 Yamaha Maxim to the point that he’d be comfortable enough to be farther than couple blocks away, so we went to christen it to Skyline, total 194 miles, a day with son - priceless. We both have Sena, mine HD branded, his is regular and mesh worked just fine, even at 70 it was clear.
