I’ve ridden 7000 miles since July 16. Rode to Sturgis, met my brother-in-law and then rode to Fairbanks. Then to anchorage where are hotel burned down at 6:00. Then rode around Alaska, then headed south. Will be 8000 miles by the time I get home. Since July 16, only one day did we not ride distance. We rode to a golf course, the most northerly USGA golf pasture in Fairbanks and lost about 4 ***** each.
Going to be a lot of zeros for a while. Went to an eye doctor the end of July and they found a torn retina. Had laser surgery the next day and they said no riding for a month. Getting old is not easy.
I did get in a long day on June 26th. 1042 miles on the Softail Fat Bob. My 31st Iron Butt ride.
Did this ride the other day with my wife, great day. About 3 hours. Was so nice, didn't even stop for any pics. Going by the Niagara Falls, we forget how powerful and the amount of water flowing over, even with the hydro pulling probably 50% of it to their plants. Rockefeller had a home along the Parkway that still stands. Just a good day. We take our area for granted for sure.
Rode 99 miles yesterday and 110 today. Nowhere particular, just had some errands to run. Good weather but it was pretty hot/humid. Around 95 with heat index 105. My wife just got her license and rode 75 of the 99 with me yesterday. Her second time out on public roads. She's getting more comfortable at 55-60mph.
Went to Gettysburg yesterday 174 miles , got stuck for almost an hour in stop and go traffic on I-81 on my way back, after traffic finally started moving breeze felt so good through my mesh jacket 😀 About 90 miles today just roaming around the backroads.
Last weekend I rode Flathead form LI to Greenfield MA for the AMCA meet, then to Manchester NH for dinner at my buddies. Sunday rode back to Keene NH than due to issue out of my control I unfortunately had to put her in the truck for the drive back to my Island. Still 320 trouble free miles, I will take it. Not enough, about 50 up to my local watering hole, a couple of beers, burger king for some take home, then back home ........ ho hum, who cares - boring
