Total Ride 150 miles.
Started at Waffle House for a late breakfast. Rolled up Hwy 421 N to Wilkesboro and stopped at Crossroads HD. Lots of bikers there. They have like five new bikes, and maybe four used bikes. The Caroline Girl said she wanted to hit the Parkway so we rolled North on Hwy 16, jumped on the BRP over to Highway 18 and stopped at Freebornes. Kinda slow there today. Everyone must be at the Myrtle Beach Rally or afraid of the possible rain that was coming.
We grabbed a seat at the bar and enjoyed a ice tea and shared a slice of three layer chocolate cake. Had a nice visit with Diane as always. We love see here up there!
Rolled back down the mountain. The temp was 82 F at Laurel Springs and went back to 93 degrees in Wilkesboro. Ran some two lane country roads through Yadkinville and returned home before the evening storms.

160+ today, ****! it was hot though. took a trip to the infamous Three Mile Island here in Pennsylvania, I have aIways been fascinated by nuclear plants for some reason, and honestly had no idea it was that close to me, just over 80mi one way, taking the scenic route and avoiding highways of course.
fuel stop and needed a drink, my fellow Pa residents will know about Turkey Hill, they have convenience stores throughout Pa, and they make killer ice cream and ice tea, this spot here is their Turkey Hill experience, a lot of fun for families.
I believe the plant was fully shut down in 2019, and of course they had the incident in 1979, but unlike Chernobyl, no one died. There are two more cooling towers, but the plant is heavily shrouded by trees.
former training center, that is looking quite dilapidated, and well...abandoned lol
