Will they still be called "farkles" if they go on a Harley?
On cases - I never use oem. Always aftermarket like Jesse or some other variant.

The skid plate looks very robust. I wouldn't be concerned about that. But from experience I know that VR is going to take some serious abuse if the owner takes it off road. As mentioned, one good day on fire roads and you won't even see it at the end of the day. And how many direct hits from stones can that thing take?
After each muddy ride I hose off whatever bike I'm on to get it basically clean. Then once or twice a season I'll take all the plastics and guards off to give it a thorough cleaning and inspection. Everything ahead of the engine on the PA looks permanent (more or less) so instead of scrubbing a timing cover on the GS, one will have to contend with the radiator and VR on the PA. Not ideal imo.

Looks like you can strip it down pretty good too. I kind of like the way it looks naked

One thing I don't like about MANY of the new bikes out, is I like simple, and most new bikes are anything but. Not just this one, but bikes have taken on that look of someones box of spare parts dumped into a frame.
The more zi look at them, the more I like the sportster scrambler posted earlier. Not the best, I am sure in ANY category one might test an "adventure" bike, but the simple, clean appearance, and nearly maintenance free design makes for a fun ride.
Too bad, to me, cause I want to really like the TA but the more I look at it, the less I do.

I know this is a Harley, but it's supposed to be an ADV Harley. Bikes in this class are not judged on their appearance but rather how well they do their intended job.
I realize that will be a hard concept for many traditional Harley buyers to wrap their heads around.

I like it too. That's a really stout looking subframe. I can't tell how the motor is mounted - solid or rubber bushings, but there's not a lot of room in there for shake. My guess is they went with the full monty on damping vibrations. I'll bet that motor just purrs.

Clean up & discard gratuitous bracketry. Street tires. New rear fender frame support weldment (i.e. the silver frame) to hold a lower rear fender and seat. Low rearward sweeping staggered dual pipes. Sportster "king" tank. Eyelid with round headlight. Street front fender. Maybe even buckhorns. Would look good. It's what I want. YOU CAN DO IT MOCO!!!!

I hope the seat height is somewhere near 32" and that the ergo's are all-day comfortable.
People complain about the headlight nacelle but the lines of it complement the gas tank and crash bars. I'm okay with it.
I'd like to see a cast wheel option for the PA like BMW has for their R1250GS.
