New speakers on the delivery truck!!
Woke up this morning to see the progress of my replacment speakers and saw they were in town on the delivery truck. YA BABY!!!
So in preperation of thier arrival I took on the task of removing the front half of the fairing and removed the factory speakers. Right off the bat I see these are a pretty poor excuse for a speaker and wonder first off why I spent as much of my hard earned cash for a Harley to find such cheap speakers in it. I mean these so called magnets wouldn't even pick up a screw. No wonder these things can't be heard over the road noise, wind and exhaust. Anyway, I opened the service manual and followed the directions and found this task to be straight forward and really easy to handle. Now I sit here waiting................hoping the "hogtunes" speakers are as good as everyone says they are. Then again anything will be better then what came from the factory!!!!!!
Waiting......

Thinking........amp and subwoofer???...........nah

RE: New speakers on the delivery truck!!
Ed,
I certainly have not been disappointed with my HOGTUNES. I have a friend with an EG and the factory upgrade radio with the amp under the tour pac, and we both think my 100.00 speakers sound as good as his 300.00+ upgrade.
Regards,
Bill

Fed Ex arrived and the speakers are in!!!!
What a difference!!!!!!!
Probably the best money spent on an upgrade and the least. (so far anyways)
All total, it took maybe an hour and a half, if that. Very easy to do with the only tricky part being getting the fairing back on in the center tabs under the stereo. Other then that it was smooth sailing.

I am curious if HD's answer to their stereo quality was the - 06' 80-watt 4-speaker Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon on the Ultra.
Has anyone compared the sound to the previous stock on the UG and RG's? And to the HOGTUNES?
I have only heard very good things about the Hogtunes!
