Ways to view the expense.
I am really dying for a road glide special. Wherever I look in my area in the midwest I am being quoted 30 or 31k.
I feel that's a little high.
I guess a Harley really keeps its value pretty well though right? I figure if I keep it a few years I can still always sell and really not be upside down with it.
Just trying to talk myself in to buying one lol.
What kind of deals have you guys been getting?
I ride a honda rebel 250 lmao so is it a huge issue for some people on the balance and weight initially? I am pretty skilled i feel on this bike but no experience on the baggers.
Just the other day I was fueling up and an old man rumbles up on his road glide, radio blasting. What a bad *** bike... now i can't think of anything but getting one lol

Look for a Garage Queen. You might want to look at a Switchback. It would be a good transition from a 250 to a bagger.
You could put bluetooth speakers on your bike.

This is spot on. The dealer will keep prices high. You’re better off buying lightly used with warranty. Same as 4 wheels let someone else take the hit. Prices for brand new vehicles is Insane. Just my opinion and some will disagree. So be it. I’d rather have the money in the bank that you lose those first year.

Who cares about resale value? Nobody can predict that. As for being upside down, if you finance with zero or minimal down for 72 months, and have to sell in the first year or two, yeah, you could end up that way. If you can pay cash, being upside down is something you don't have to worry about. Find a bike, make whatever deal sounds good for you, and get to riding.

In a few years it will likely be worth considerably less than you paid for it today. In my opinion that is upside down.
If you are OK with constant payments, the best way to stay not so upside down is to buy new and trade up every year.
My preferred way is buy a vehicle and keep it for 10 or more years and get your moneys worth.
I have always believed it is better to buy late model used so you don't take that initial huge drop in value when you drive off the lot. In fact I swore I would never buy new again, many years ago.
Times change and we have to evolve and adapt. I recently learned while truck shopping that I just couldn't find what I wanted on the used market and decided to order new.
So buy what works for you and enjoy it but don't plan on getting your money back out of it.
