This is a Harley forum , there should be a few wing forums out there go find one , but anyways dam those things are funny looking.

I see a lot of references to Goldwings and Goldwing riders as though they are the ultimate UNCOOL NON-BIKER. Why is this? Tempers certainly flair when people bash Harleys yet Goldwing bashing certainly isa common pasttime around here. If I were to take an extended multi-thousand miletrip around North America on a morotcycle and could choose any bike to do it on I know exactly which one I'd pick.

I've been riding for over 30 years most of which were on Goldwings, right now I can't stand the body works on the GW so I started looking for something else.I bought a VTX 1800 and hated it from the first ride andkept riding it hoping it would get better(it didn't) Isaw the new Street Glide in '06, bought it and love it. I don't try to compare the bikes as they are different animals. As far as bashing or owner loyalty goes, here is my opinion. The number one group that thinks their bike is the only bike is the BMW owners, number 2 is the GW wives ( they will look down their noses at anyother bike owner) Third is the die hard Harley owners. I've heard all groups put down other bikes. I don't care what you ride as long as you ride. I've had friends with GWs with over 200,000 miles on them and never had problems with it, and I have a friend with a mid 80s Low Rider with almost 200,000 mile on it and he keeps on riding it.

Hondas, suzukis, yamaha's,kawasaki's are all hard to work on.

A Harley has everything right in front of you, easy to get to. I know because I work partime in an indy bike shop. Black Widow Cycles. We also build choppers and customs.

PS. I never rode a gw,but I hate the fookin things...[:'(]

Funny thing that happened when I bought my Harley, word got out in our town that I was buying a Harley after all the years of riding Hondas. When I went to pick up the bike, about 15 members of the local Harley group met us at the dealership and took us out to dinner as a welcome to the family. In 25 years of riding Goldwings, I never had the local Gwrra group even congradulate us in buying a new bike.

Bikers are bikers, I don't care what they ride...but ya gotta admit though that those couples riding the yellow Goldwings, with the matching yellow trailer, wearing the matchingoutfits, and matching yellow helmets are friggin funny.....
Obviously, Goldwingers have their own culture thing going. Good for them
