On the Q2 results call, Jochen Zeitz named only the Pan America as a new model coming up....no mention whatsoever of the Bronx....from that I can understand that the bike may be dead too.
This is weird. A bike like The Bronx is just as current and happenin' as an ADV bike like the Pan America. Why would they abandon it? Too much lower-priced competition?

Perhaps they took off the rose tinted glasses they were wearing when they dreamt up the FXDR and realised the Bronx would get slaughtered by any 7 year old Japanese street fighter.
Deluxe gone? Never would have thought that. When I was looking I decided on the road king because the deluxe didn't have cruise, I also wanted tubless wheels. If they would have had those two things I would have bought the Deluxe. Probably if it had tubless spokes like bmw wheels I would have bought it and just added cruise but it cost more than the RK too for some reason.
Apparently I’m the only one who isn’t surprised that the Deluxe is being dropped. Changing the Heritage 107 to all chrome trim made the Deluxe redundant in the lineup. For about $1,000 more than the Deluxe you get saddlebags, a windshield, a passenger seat and cruise control.
All the Deluxe could offer in return is wide whitewall tires, the tombstone tail lamp, odd looking turn signals that nobody liked, different foot boards, bars and paint. That’s not enough to differentiate the bike from the Heritage and apparently a lot of buyers agreed.
I admit to being sad to see it go, but I’m
not a bit surprised either.
Covid has nothing to do with it. Metric bikes are selling as fast as they can uncrate them.
Harley has a kicked the can too many times and now it's catching up. You can only sell so many Road Glides.
Where are “metric bikes selling as fast as they can uncrate them”? Not around here. Dealers have 2-3 year old bikes sitting in the showroom floor. I don’t see them on the road, either. Metric dealers are surviving by selling quads and ATVs.
That's what I see at the couple of metric dealers that I pass by often. They used to have many bikes out front, dirt and street, but now all I ever see are quads and ATVs. If they're selling all that they can get, it's because they're not getting very many.to sell.

Around here, there are several years of metric bikes brand new on the showroom floor also. Each year is discounted a little more than the next year newer.
