I have an 11 year old battery on a 1950s sports car that's done 3,000 miles since 1985. I shove it on a battery tender for a week about twice a year. Starts the car OK so far. Batteries have their own rules.
If you're staying local, might be OK.

Cheap??????? 175 for touring batteries.
Sure they can, but might not. Try it and find out. I parked a bike for 2 years that I was pissed at, starting it once a year, and it was fine. I put on charge perodically.
