Advice requested! 900 mile 100th Anniversary V-Rod
Hi,
I am new to this forum, and am hoping to get some advice/opinions. I own a 2003 100th Anniversary V-Rod.
I purchased the bike new in 2003, and still think it is one of the most beautiful bikes ever built! I love that is the 100th Anniversary model. My intention was to keep it "as new" forever, and ride enough to keep it exercised but always in brand new condition.
The bike only has 900 miles on it, and is showroom new. But recently I have been considering selling.
Jeff

- What is the best way/place to sell?
- What is your opinion on value?

Nice side step.
Below are two values. The market is soft and your motorcycle only has a few miles on it; both are working against you. Once put into service after a new set of tires are installed (those are 17 years old) it's quite possible some leaks/weeps will appear because of the low mileage. The Vrod was never really a big seller to start with and waiting until HD stopped producing them probably isn't working in your favor. The anniversary thing means nothing. Good luck with the sale.

May I ask a very dumb question? You wouldn't happen to be friends with an old forum buddy ' Hawiian Guy' by an chance?
But in all seriousness - Its a way soft market right now. I would go to cycle trader, look for comps and figure +15 to +20% for the miles...
Personally if I was in the market, I would expect to pay 5500 to 6500.00 depending on my mood. The bike is going to need a full service and tires at minimum. So I guess my real number would 5000.00

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I am not sure that I'm actually going to sell yet, I'm just looking for some advice.
I did see the book values for average condition bikes with average miles, but this is a long way from an average bike! Hence my request for some opinions and advice.
Eventually I will decide whether to sell or keep it, but I am hoping to gather some insight so I can make the best decision.
Thanks again,
Jeff

btw, I love your bike, may not be worth a million bucks, but I loved the V-rod, always have

Retail value does not increase due to extremely low mileage, unless it is a collectible...which it isn’t. Value is reduced for big mileage, not the opposite. Plus as others have said, that low of mileage likely did more damage than not. The average 4 miles per month, is not enough to warm it up.
BTW...it is a beautiful looking bike.
Edit: Oh yeah, if those are your cars in the background, you don’t need to worry about how much you sell if for. 💰
