Anyone here have a chopper-now or ever

RE: Anyone here have a chopper-now or ever
I think there may be a mistake of terminology here. Big Dogs and Iron Horses are NOT choppers. In fact, they areno more choppers than any bike sitting in your local HD dealership. They are just a bike built on an assembly line made to resemble someone's idea of a chopper.

Build your own, I did and am really satisfied with it. Built a Pan and a Knuck in the old days, this Evo has been far more reliable. High speed is like a rock, cornering is OK if you don't mind a little pogoing when you really crank it. Note the Sporty tank mounted well back. I can U turn on a 2 lane because the forks flop almost 180 deg. It ain't a crotch rocket but handles very securely. Love having front brakes now. Go for it!

RE: Anyone here have a chopper-now or ever
Back in 72 I decided to chop my 68 sportster. I did all the work myself except raking the frame ( my father took care of that ) and the painting. I mean it was nothing compared to what they do now but for a 20 yr. old working out of the old mans garage I think I did a good job. It looked and ran great...........

Current toy (at least until it finds a new owner) 250 rigid frame, 42 degree rake, 6 up, 4 back, 6 over springer front end. They rattle the hell out of you, they corner about as well as the titanic, and they're about as "performance" oriented as a shopping cart.
On the plus side, they handle great in a straight line. They absolutely turn heads so if you like every damned person hanging around your bike this is for you (for the record, it's really freaking annoying), but the true plus side chicks dig choppers. So you can expect alot more attention from the split ends if you ride one.
