Default Charlotte NC best rides?

Should be in charlotte this week sometime, maybe the weekend, and wondering where the best place to rent a bike and where to ride would be. I have a buddy in Georgia that just bought a new ultra last month, and thinking of going down there, but would like to meet his halfway and ride some really nice scenic ride(s) while I'm out in that part of the country.

I know of 2 Harley dealers in the Charlotte area. One is on east Independence blvd in the Mathews areaand theother is onwest 74 in Gastonia which is only a few miles west of Charlotte. I prefer the Gastonia dealer plus west 74 is some great riding. You can head to Lake Lure and on up to Ashville and hit the Blue Ridge.

There is also Pat Rogers Speedway HD, right there at the speedway.

Gerard is right, if you have the time, head towards Asheville. We just did the parkway on Saturday from Boone to Asheville, then rode to Chimney Rock/Lake Lure yesterday before coming home. Some great roads and beautiful scenery!!!

I am pretty sure Pat Rogers doesn't rent bikes. My suggestion would be to rent from Carolina Harley Davidson in Gastonia. From there you are right next to I-85 and can head towards Georgia to meet your buddy!

Here is a link to Carolina Harley's rental web page... http://www.carolinaharley.com/rentals.htm

Good Luck....Be Safe!!!....Have fun!!!!!!!

Robbie Duncan is in charge of the rental dept. Carolina H-D would put you on the Georgia side of Charlotte. If you're flying into town, they'll pick you up at the airport. The dealership is about 15 miles from the Charlotte airport.

Thanks guys, I'll see what happens. I spoke to a guy here yesterday, I'm here now, and he said that the bikes rent high around here. Prices in Phoenix range from $125-$200 a day depending on model. Guy here said they're around 3 to 4 hundred a day, but I can't see that. Funny cause a vrod on one side of town is $125 for the day, but on the other side it's $200. No consistantcy between dealerships, but then we have 6 or 7 dealershipsin the greater phoenix area.

Curious to know who that was. I know the last time I checked the most expensive rental at Carolina H-D was a touring model and they ran $145 / day.
