Default End of 2020 production?

Harley executives take a 30% pay cut, all other company staff still working take 10% salary hit, production plants are all idled and plant workers are furloughed with just benefits. March sales were horrible and April will be worse. By the time the plants fire up again, they will probably start on the 2021 model year production. So the 2020 models you see on the showroom floor might be the last ones delivered. And btw, Harley will probably let all their dealers sell more aggressively online.

Maybe not the case for Europe as bikes come from Thailand since beginning of 2020 ?

Soooo, does that make them "collectibles"? Should I buy one and park it in the corner of a shed for 30-years?

Makes sense to gear up for 21's. I know that the semi trucks I delivered all the plants shut down in August to retool for the following year. 2021 Vin's are issued now so all the D.O.T. scale houses have them in the system. As far as 2020's being collectabe- too early to say.Check back with me in 25 years.

It's not so much about model years as it is adjusting production to meet demand. April and May likely will see historically low sales volume due to the lockdowns and unemployment. When things open back up, the world will be entering a deep recession where most consumers are concerned with keeping a roof over their head rather than buying a motorcycle or other luxury items. If the recession is short-lived as some predict, sales might start climbing again in 2021. But the rest of this year is going to be a wash and its possible that existing on-hand inventory is sufficient to cover demand.

No problem, rebadge the 20s as 21s. They have been doing that for years. They just sprinkle a little glitter on e’m.

It's a sad state of affairs up here in the northeast for H-D dealers. The already short riding season coupled with the dealers having to close during their peak selling season is having a huge impact on dealers that rely on selling their inventory for the entire year in just a few months. I felt so bad for them I went out and purchased a 2020 Road Glide Limited. The deal was all done over the phone and through email. They really appreciated the business and I appreciate the great deal on the new bike. Lets hope this all ends soon and these dealerships, factory workers and everyone else it affects can back on track as soon as possible. I say if you have a secure source of income, and are on the fence go get one....

Well if it was built recently you may want to park it in the corner at least 14 days!

If we thought sumping was bad just wait till the CV19 bikes get a fever and start coughing!
