Default Klever Lever Junk

I read some good things about the Klever Lever on this forum so I thought I'd give it a try. For $9.99 + $1.50 handling + 6.99 Shipping I got a plastic piece of fake chrome. OK, I could live with that, it's small and unobtrusive but here's the rub. It came without instructions but the slots are tapered from bottom to top so the only logical way to install it, so it doesn'tfall off, is on the TOP of the stock star screw. To do that I'd need to remove the throttle cables. Guess I could superglue it from the bottom up, but not worth the effort and I'd never be able to adjust it.

My Klever lever has been in place for almost 4 years now. Use it regularly. No problems. Installed it from the bottom. Want piece of mind? Put a few drops of crazy glue in the slots and then press it on, align it and let it dry before using.

I tried pushing it on from the bottom it will not even go on that way. Only goes on about half way and pops off. Took the star off and it clicks right into place from the top down. But then you can'tscrew it back on withe cables in place.

OK, now in the know. Looked at one before a long ride but didn't know if it would be wirth the trouble. From the posts it seems like a good add on.

Sounded like a good idea to me too. Maybe HD changed the stock star screw in '07 just a smidge, maybe I just got a defective batch of not so clever Klevers, don't know but I'd certainly not recommend it.Obviously works for some, but IMO it's acheap piece of plastic that doesn't fit my bike at all.Just warning anyone that might be considering it to try other makers. Perhaps one with a set screw.
