FXDR challenge. Biggest day ride.

FXDR challenge. Biggest day ride.
I love my bike. It isn't the most comfortable (I'll be working on that) but I've still managed to hammer out a few miles with it.
So far I've knocked out a few 300 mile days and last week stepped it up to 400.
Yesterday the forecast was decent and I could clear the schedule so let's order up a trip to the big CA. Over near Idyllwild.
Mountain roads, CA commuter traffic. Sometimes fun, sometimes not.
Darkness hit me in Borrego Springs and I'd hammer through to Joshua Tree National Park.
Then Amboy and Ludlow before Mojave Preserve and back home.
I started my day at 3,739 miles. Left around 7:15 am. Knocked out 810 miles and was home by 1:30am.
Few hours of sleep and my right shoulder is aching.
Weather needs to warm up a bit so I'm not freezing my tail off morning and night in the desert and I'll easily knock out a Saddle Sore 1000 on this bike. I may keep it stock to do this feet. Modded for comfort would be cheating.
Harley, if you are listening: can you give us a pull back set of clip-ons to keep the same look but actually make the bike comfortable?

If you change that then it is like riding any other Softail and it isn't as challenging to get that monster day ride.
I'm still looking at bar mods for the bike and a seat but haven't settled yet.

@Chillis , how have you been liking the OEM tires? Does the FXDR come with bias ply or radials?
I guess the tires are good. Same model that was on my Fat Boy.
Now with over 4,500 miles on, the rear is starting to square.
No problems with grip although they aren't like the S-21's that were on my CB1000R.
I wouldn't mind a softer ride. Whether that is tire or suspension, only one way to find out.
I think Harley uses these in a lot of their product line. Michelin Scorcher 11.
