payraise or not!!!!!!!!!!
I was offered a promotion today, it would have been a $12,000.00 a month pay raise, but I would of had to drive an hour each way.And yes, I thought wow, a payraise and a good ride every day, but then the thought of those winter months popped into my head. Needless to say I turned it down.

I believe you meant 1200 a month .. not 12,000.
Anyway, why not take the raise and move. That'd be my perogative. Unless you're making enough coin already that 1200 isn't going to be noticable.
For the record, with my paycheck. 1200 more / month would have me moving and taking the job. Assuming it was a job I wanted.

For me it would depend. If I made a $1K a month and someone offered me $2K a month I'd be pretty happy. If I made $10K a month and someone offered me an extra $1K I'd probably **** on it if I were happy where I was. Tell where you fall here and we'll tell you if you're stupid or not.

The way gas prices are you would probably spend $700/month on gas, $200 more on taxesand 2 hours less per day with your family. You made the right decision.

I did that very thing almost 10 yrs ago and couldn't be happier. The ride to work is great have several options on routes.Plenty of time for a coffee and news or music during the winter months. It is still up to you.

It would depend, Are you talking about an hour driving or an hour doing two mph on a crowded freeway? If I was traveling 50-60mi. on an open road, orhaving to go 15mi in gridlock!
