Men's footwear has only 3 qualities: style, comfort, and durability. The problem is, you can only have two, never all three. You can't really put a price on it though. If I spent $60,000 on a new car, people say "wow, nice car". If I bought a $400,000 home, people say "wow! beautiful home!" If I bought dinner at a nice restaurant for a party of four and spent $400, they say "amazing dinner!". But spend $400 on a pair of quality shoes and people will tell you that you've lost your mind! I don't get it.

I strongly disagree with this. My Danners are older than half the people on this forum, are all-day comfortable, and and look great.

Motorcycle footwear has an additional quality: safety. This thread has shown we all prioritize the 4 qualities differently.

I am not a fan of the buckles etc. on 'adventure' boots but I have a pair of Sidi All Road that are older. They are plain and look just like my old Corbins under my pants; but, they are goretex , full protection and comfortable enough for walking. I was glad I was wearing them in an accident last Oct. I think I would have ended up with an ankle that required ortho sugery instead of the severe sprain and achilles tear which has been bad enough. My Corbins wouldn't have done squat. Motosport has a number of boots that are worth a look, in my opinion, if you are looking for protective footwear. They even have a leather Sidi which is rare anymore. One thing about my boots is that they can be re-soled which I think helps with the cost. I have about 50K on them and they are still waterproof but will need soles soon. They came out of the wreck in better shape than I did, lol (now). Just my two cents. Wear what makes you happy there are a lot of choices these days.

Oh man this picture to me just screams sweaty stinky feet. Great ankle support though. I used to wear lace up all the time but they don't ventilate well and then the boot smells like my foot rotted off in it.

For me now, I have been wearing the same pair of Ariat boots that I wear all day long. Comfortable and they fit well without stretching out. Had em 3 years now and still in great shape.
