For me, they offer all the 3 ideas mentioned in the beginning: they are comfortable, easy to use, and look very ok compared to other options. But if in doubt, check this article https://motorcyclesportworld.com/bes...-boots-review/. It compares the best options you have in a different price range.
Where can you buy any kind of footwear for under $20?

I also use the Dickies tall socks. Yeah they get hot if I am riding all day. But do not slip back into the boot. My boot cannot ever actually touch my skin! LOL
+1 on the Dickies tube socks (something else that doesn't sound right )!!!! Nothing like having the top of your boots rubbing your calves all day long!

Zippers on boots? They're the ones for girls if I remember correctly.

I have an old pair of Harley boots, but usually just wear my WolveriWolverines.

Default TCX Street ACE WP Shoes

I got tired of wearing my Timberlands and Bates and found these shoes on sale for $109, which are comfortable, decent protection, and waterproof. Full grain upper, ankle, toe and heel reinforcements. TCX is owned by Dainese

Sorry for delayed reply. Yup, they are side zip. But, probably because of my weird feet, I. Need to loosen the leaves to remove them.

im now wearing heavy wool Timberkine socks. They are comfortable, and protect against heat. My feet actually stay cooler than when I was wearing athletic socks.
