60's were awesome to play with, but I didn't have to hump mine all day like Jerry, just between my tent and the Huey. Always glad to hear some of us are still around. Congrats, Jerry.

Wow thanks everyone! It was quite the surprise when Buzz first contacted me. Thought he was joking. He's quite the writer too. Definitely missed his calling, huh?
As for my makeshift work shop, I always wanted to bring it in the house and figured why not. Beats trying to heat the garage and it's been brutally cold this winter here. This is a long, drawn out total rebuild too so I'm glad I did.
Anyway, wow yeah. I'm at a loss for words and that doesn't happen often! lol But thanks everyone. Thus is an awesome forum and I hope I give it half as much as I've gotten from it at least.

Congratulations Jerry AND BENTLEY !!! Very enjoyable read. Great write-up as always Buzz.
Jerry, if I am not mistaken, the 10th Mountain Division, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, C Company is stationed at Fort Drum, NY. Dayum. That alone will make you one tough MFer. Stay strong.
For the record, I'd be single too if I had my bike in the dining room.

The 10th Mountain is in Drum now but when our company first started the Div. back in '85 after being deactivated after korea, we stayed in Banning after graduating basic and moved right down the street in tbe starships on Sandhill where we stayed for years. In fact our presence caused some dick measuring issues with the Rangers also at Banning who felt we hadn't earned our tabs and berets. Of course that all changed after Blackhawk Down when my Company and my platoon in particular literally saved their asses.
If you ever get a chance, watch Blackhawk Down; The Real Story. It's a documentary and it goes into great detail about the 10th Mountain's role in the Mog and the casualties we took. One heluva gunfight.
We barely get a mention right at the end in the famous movie.

Congratulation Jerry. I still haven't mounted that Biker Bar I purchased from you. If he ever has anything for sale you can rest assured he is an honest guy to buy from. Another impressive write up Buzz

Congrats on your MOM selection, Jerry! Great story & sending well wishes fm your neighboring state to the West. Definitely consider the move to Phoenix, my big Bro did & loves it. Talked to him the other day when it was 20-degrees here, he was sitting on back patio in shorts/t-shirt as it was 70. He was an OTR driver as well, but luckily the only accident was losing a livestock trailer when the cattle spooked/shifted & guided rig into ditch. Glad you survived the wreck & can now enjoy wrenching + riding w/ your pup. Cheers!

I rented this house out 10 years ago and the wife and I lived in Mesa for a year so yeah, I'm already hooked on the weather there. I was hauling containers from phoenix to the port of Long Beach and back then.
If I would've gotten a little more $$$ in this settlement I'd be on my way. It's still fore front in mind and I'll get there.
I know the Savannah area all to well and got over that way quite a bit when I drove for and delivered pallets for a pallet company here. Not to mention heading down the Mississippi in my boat.

Congrats Jerry The truck photo gave me a sphincter contraction. Sorry that you suffered permanent injuries, but it sure seems you are fortunate to be alive.
...and during the write-up, was it just me that had the following image pop into his head?
