That old Honda brings back memories - I rode a 1983 V45 Magna across Canada, coast to coast, when I was 18. Tank was so small that I had to stop and get gas every 125km, so I stopped in every little town across the country and gas often dictated the trip.
Congrats, Bear. IF you ever head to the West Coast, I am always up for a ride through our mountains

Thanks Zedbra , Glad I was able to uncover some great memories for you . The guy I ride with had a V45 exactly like this one , same color and all . He actually came over a couple of times and helped me work on it , he had bought his in Jasper and rode it across Canada as well , he's got stories that will never end , love that guy . I was lucky my other friend ( the owner ) had the manual , and now with the internet , it made things so much easier to figure out . I had really great days while working on it , but when I got to the carb , it got a bit frustrating , those duel carbs weren't easy to sync , but finally got it sorted out after a couple hundred test rides , pretty funny running it up and down the street with no tank , just reserve , and a screwdriver in my back pocket .
The guy who owns it , actually rode it to B.C and back a couple of times , had some great stories to tell . I had a hard time giving it back to him , I kinda grew attached to it , fun to ride around the city , and I got a lot attention , not many of these around anymore . Watching him take it out for his first ride was priceless , worth every ounce of blood and sweat . He couldn't stop smiling , his wife told me a few days later that he started sitting out in the shop and just staring at it . I'm sure hoping his health stays on the positive side and we can take some short rides out for coffee , he has no plans of ever letting it go , even if he never rides it . When I told him there was no charge for the work I had done , he ended up giving me ( forced on ) a small Italian Mini bike ( 1969 ) he had sitting around . I've started working on it in my spare time , had it running too , cute little thing !!
Man , I love those mountains , been trying to convince my wife to move there someday , she doesn't know what's she's missing . Hopefully , we can both tour around there in the next couple of years . She's finally on the mend , and now is more motivated to get out and do some sight seeing . She had a hip replacement 3 years ago ( 48 ) and had some problems with that , but now she's doing much better , so I'm hoping . A few years ago we went to Drumheller and spent a few days just cruising around the town , what a place .
Yes , who knows , if I ever make it there , I may just take you up on that .

^ I may have a few parts laying around still for that old Honda (various gaskets and small items). If I find them, I'll shoot ya a pic and send them your way if you can use them.
