I've learned over the years to by one size larger and anticipate shrinkage from washing, especially with the cost of these T shirts now.

I'd rather have a half shrunken HD shirt than a corset..

Wash'em with cold water, then hang dry. I do it on most of my shirts that I want to continue fitting so I can wear them in public.

I usually get XL. Some of them fit okay and some others are too large. Some seem to shrink more than others. I think they must be sourced from all over the place. The construction and quality of materials in those shirts is a crap shoot.
If I weren't too lazy to try them on before buying, and if my laundry skills were better it might help things too. But what fun would that be?

Well, it's better your T shirt suffers shinkage than you experience shrinkage
