I don't share the enthusiasm here. Are Americans getting so Fat and Lazy that they cant pedal their own bicycle's anymore? And if buying a scooter makes me more sophisticated, then I will just have to pass...lol! The book on whether all this electric stuff will succeed has yet to be written. I am personally dubious about it's success. Lets stop the unbridled enthusiasm for any and all New Tech, that isn't really all that new, and wait and see. Electric bicycles have been out for a long time. People (masses) like "New" and tend to lay things by the wayside once they realize they were victims of advertising, Social media plants, and product "Strategery" This will need some long legs to make it past just a fad.
lol France ‘nuff said. Sophisticated my ***.

I bet it will cost $10K.
For that money, you can get a REAL nice ebike.

IDK about $10K but I bet it will easily jump into the $3-$4K range.

It's about brand recognition and brand loyalty , a grey beard buys his grand kids/nephew/niece/step kids/kids with his large supply of disposable income a HD e-bike or bike as the kids first bike, the kid/ kids like it, it's a HD they may buy an HD e-road bike later when they get older through brand recognition . Most people have a soft spot for their first brand of motorcycle.

That ain't no sh*t ^

The future of electric vehicles on the short term is bicycles. You don't have to register, insure or even have a license to ride one.

I still say Americans are getting too Fat and Lazy to peddle their own bicycles. Why don't they just come up with an Electric Chair that wheels around, and has Bluetooth to order from all the fast food restaurant's? Have you ever been to Walmart? I know some people are having a hard time physically, but the Fat people are abusing the privileges'. They are now getting electric shopping carts, and all the parking spots for handicapped, and Walmart now brings the electric cart out to them. I have had to run past the handicapped parked cars to avoid being hit, because they just put their car in reverse and back up without looking. I suppose it's too hard to turn their head and look for pedestrians. Walmart should put up giant mirrors I suppose...
Someone will undoubtedly chime in and tell me their Aunt is disabled and needs assistance. That's not who I am talking about. I am speaking about the Enormous people who block the aisles with their carts and stuff every sugary and high fat item in their baskets, and then pay for it with an SSI card, then go jump into their Cadillac Escalade and nearly run people over...They should be banned from buying an electric bicycle IMHO. The exercise might do them some good.
There...Now I feel better after my rant! I look forward to your comments...Follow the video link to George Carlin's comments on Dumb Americans and Fat People, and tell me if you think he is wrong.

When I was younger, in my early forties, I used to commute to and from work on my mountain bike; it was a 25 minute sprint through suburban traffic. On the ride home, after midnight, an ebike would have been nice after eight or ten hours of second shift.
Ebikes and escooters are practical vehicles for many applications. I'd like to have an off road electric scooter to ride on my hunting land in northern Michigan.

Yep, then a set of saddlebags, a fairing or windshield, maybe a tour pack.
