Only thing that kills mold spores is strong peroxide and/or ultraviolet light exposure over a long period of time, nothing else will touch it.

Where you going to wear it while you tried the Microwave thing? The only reason I am asking is that we are looking for a new “Fearless Leader” north of the 49th, and it would help with the qualification process.

I Never knew that. I thought zapping in the microwave kills pretty much anything....guess not

Is it really mold or does it just smell musty ? My wife bought a couple of new helmets from a garage sale that smelled kinda musty. Aired them out and wrapped some charcoal in a rag and placed it in them for awhile. Seemed to work with no smell what so ever.

Yes...the padding hardens over time.

Cram it full of news papers and put it in a plastic bag for a week or two.......should do it.......

Saturate it with febreeze then put it on a heater vent over night.
