Aerostich has a sample kit of various earplugs both disposable and reusable. Iliked the Moldex Rockets the best. My wife selected something else, I then sent the kit to a buddy. http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/...p-1-c-343.html

If I'm going to be on the freeway for any amount of time, I use Shure In Ear headphones with an Ipod. Almost no wind noise and music to boot.

My ears are still ringing from a trip on Sunday. I forgot my ear plugs and I can promise you that won't happen again. I use plugs regularly and have no problems hearing other vehicles, emergency vehicles with sirens or horns. Basicly they just block out the wind noise.

Okay..first of all, I wear a full face helmet which is one of the reasons I don't have this issue. Or watery eyes.....bugs in my teeth......face pitted by rocks, etc.. If you insist on wearing ear plugs, then I recommend you have a pair custom fitted to your ears. I have a pair made by a company called Ear Defenders. I had them made just for my ears at a gun show several years ago. You pick the color, or colors if you wish and you can even put them on a cord (optional). They are made by pouring this wax-gooey substance in your ear then it hardens and becomes a perfectly fitted ear plug. They even give you a handy little carrying case with a key chain on it. Check with a gun show in your area, you can usually have them made there. As a side note, I use mine for shooting and they work better than anything I've used.

Macks. Silicon that you mold to the shape of your ear. $5.00 a box of about 10 pairs from Walmart. When I take them out I put them in one of those small contact lens cases. This keeps them clean and they last a lot longer. I have a Street Glide and I can hear the Radio and everything going on around me. The plugs cut out the wind noise. 500 mile runs and no ringing in the ears at the end of it.

I ordered some plugs from these guys for my band's shows / practices and used them for the first time the other day. Excellent clarity while still blocking out the harmful decibel ranges:

Haven't looked into getting a pair for the bike yet. The ones I have I don't think will work as they have little posts for the clarity aspect and I wear a snug, full helmet.
