Hearing Protection...what do you use...

I use the "squisshy" ear plugs that you squeeze and insert into ear canal. I can still hear pipes and other sounds, but the wind noise is blocked. I use a 3/4 helmet . I use them on all rides longer than a few minutes.

If I'm going to be on the freeway for any amount of time, I use Shure In Ear headphones with an Ipod. Almost no wind noise and music to boot.

Okay..first of all, I wear a full face helmet which is one of the reasons I don't have this issue. Or watery eyes.....bugs in my teeth......face pitted by rocks, etc.. If you insist on wearing ear plugs, then I recommend you have a pair custom fitted to your ears. I have a pair made by a company called Ear Defenders. I had them made just for my ears at a gun show several years ago. You pick the color, or colors if you wish and you can even put them on a cord (optional). They are made by pouring this wax-gooey substance in your ear then it hardens and becomes a perfectly fitted ear plug. They even give you a handy little carrying case with a key chain on it. Check with a gun show in your area, you can usually have them made there. As a side note, I use mine for shooting and they work better than anything I've used.

Just some foam ones you roll up and then put in ear, they expand and block out the wind.
