I think if there are so many young riders out there wanting to learn to ride on beginner bikes, they should create a 1-2 year leasing program for these bikes. That way when the term is up, they could either buy it out or upgrade to a bigger bike for financing.

For the young , hell I’ll take a 3 yr lease and the financing for the remaining balance of the bike !

Yup. The disconnect with their customer base is painful to see.

they've been doing that for years. buy a sportster, ride it for a year, upgrade to a big twin and get back your purchase price.

they're trying to expand it. that means doing some stuff that you won't like. but they are still doing some of the stuff that you like as well. it doesn't have to be one or the other.

Leasing bikes ? The dealerships have leftovers, repossessed, used bikes and brand new models filling their floors now.. Could not imagine what they would new with turned in leased bikes if that would to add to the mix..If the flock of new riders is out their, where are they ? With the amount of bikes on hand at dealerships across the country now, if they want to buy a bike nows the time to make a deal.. I don't think it's just a Harley issue either, plenty of other brand dealerships are loaded with bikes. I really do not believe the hype that there is a multitude of new riders ready to buy new bikes regardless of how many new models manufacturers create..
