Can I remove this inspection plate easily?

Can I remove this inspection plate easily?
Hi
I recently imported this fatboy into Canada. I am really happy and can't get the smile off my face these last few weeks.
I was wondering if I could simply remove the bolt thatthe inspection plate has beenattached with as shown in far bottom left of photo. I dont need it and it looks out of place.
I am not that mechanically inclinded so would like a second opinion .
I would loosen and remove the bolt, take off the inspection plate and then put back the bolt and tighten...sounds pretty straight forward right? or do I need to brace the engine or worry about something else?

Lots of helpful folks and info,,,, but get that shop manual first. BTW welcome to the forums.
Yes you can remove the bolt and the plate then just reinstall the bolt.

The inspection sticker plate I guess is a New York state thing....bike came from NY.

It doesn't come on any bikes. People buy them and put them on, to have a place besides their front forks to put their inspection sticker.
